The active surface should be determined in accordance with the EN 14240 standard, which takes into account the length of the active section—i.e., the part of the panel where the water-carrying pipes remain in thermal contact with the radiant panel. The use of a heat exchanger tape length conversion (e.g., aluminum foil between the pipes) depending on which value is longer is also not an appropriate conversion in terms of the definition of the "active surface".
